There’s something special about discovering the story behind a place.
It might be a century-old home tucked beneath the oak trees in St. Petersburg’s Old Northeast, a historic building along Dunedin’s Main Street, or a waterfront neighborhood where generations of families have watched Tampa Bay change around them.
I’ve always believed that where we live is about much more than the house itself. It’s about the history, the people, the architecture, the traditions, and the countless small details that give a community its character.
That belief is one of the reasons I’ve decided to begin writing here.
More Than Real Estate
I’m fortunate to work in an industry that allows me to explore communities, meet interesting people, and walk through some truly remarkable homes.
As a Realtor working throughout Tampa Bay, I’ve learned that every property has a story. Some are written in architectural details, original wood floors, or the craftsmanship of another generation. Others are found in the memories of the families who have called a house home.
What interests me most is understanding the connection between the two.
Why were certain neighborhoods developed where they were? How did communities like Dunedin, Clearwater, Tampa, and St. Petersburg evolve into the places we know today? Why do some historic homes remain so desirable, and what can their architecture tell us about the people who built them?
These are questions I enjoy exploring, and they’re the kinds of stories I intend to share.
A Love of History and the Places That Shape Us
My interest in history has always extended beyond dates and historical events. I’ve been fascinated by the decisions, personalities, and circumstances that shape our communities.
Tampa Bay offers an extraordinary opportunity to explore those connections.
From the early development of Hyde Park and the historic neighborhoods surrounding downtown St. Petersburg to the coastal communities of Pinellas County, the region’s history is visible almost everywhere you look.
Sometimes it’s preserved in a landmark building. Other times it’s hidden in a quiet residential street, a neighborhood name, or a small detail that most people pass without noticing.
I believe those stories are worth telling.
Seeing Tampa Bay Through a Different Lens
Photography and filmmaking have given me another way to appreciate the world around me.
Creating my documentary, Delightful Dunedin, reinforced something I’ve long believed: you can live in a community for years and still discover something new about it when you take the time to look more closely.
Sometimes that means learning about the people who shaped a town. Sometimes it’s capturing the afternoon light on a familiar street or discovering a piece of local history that deserves more attention.
I hope to bring that same curiosity to this publication.
You’ll find photographs, historical observations, neighborhood stories, and occasionally a perspective that might encourage you to see a familiar place differently.

Understanding the Tampa Bay Real Estate Market
Of course, real estate will be part of the conversation.
But I want to approach it differently.
There is no shortage of information available about home prices, interest rates, and market trends. What I believe is often missing is the local context that helps people understand what those numbers actually mean.
Why does one neighborhood command a premium over another? What makes a historic home appealing to today’s buyers? How does waterfront access influence property values? What should homeowners understand before deciding to sell?
These are subjects I encounter regularly in my work, and I look forward to sharing practical observations about them.
My goal is to make real estate more understandable, whether you’re preparing to buy your first home, considering a move to Tampa Bay, or have lived here for decades.
There’s More to Life Than Houses
While real estate and local history will be central themes, this publication won’t be limited to either.
I enjoy travel, photography, fishing, the outdoors, and discovering places that have their own stories to tell.
Those interests have shaped how I see Tampa Bay, too.
Living along Florida’s Gulf Coast provides remarkable opportunities to enjoy the water, explore natural landscapes, experience different communities, and appreciate a lifestyle that draws people here from around the world.
I intend to share some of those experiences along the way.
An Invitation to Explore
As this publication grows, I hope it becomes a place for thoughtful conversations about Tampa Bay: its past, its present, and its future.
Some articles will explore the history of a particular neighborhood. Others will take a closer look at historic architecture, local real estate, or the qualities that make a community special.
Above all, I want the writing to be informative, approachable, and worth your time.
If you live in Tampa Bay, are thinking about moving here, or simply enjoy history, architecture, and discovering interesting places, I hope you’ll subscribe and join me.
And if there’s a neighborhood, historic home, or local story you’d like to see explored, I’d enjoy hearing about it.
There’s always another story waiting to be discovered.
